The PTSA Equity Project is a parent-led grassroots campaign dedicated to addressing resource disparities related to parent fundraising in Seattle Public Schools. Our mission is to harness the collective power of PTSAs to be engines for equity in Seattle.
We hope to start a city-wide conversation about creating equal access to opportunity for students, centering the voices of those most affected by resource disparities. Our steering committee recognizes our positionality as four white women (all Seattle Public Schools parents) with privilege. We are taking direction from leaders of color in the education community and forming an advisory board of those leaders to guide our work. More on this very soon!
